Happy New Year Travel Dreamers! I just returned from an incredible split stay in Cuba, combining the vibrant culture of Havana with the luxury and relaxation of Varadero—and it was everything I hoped for! Havana Highlights: I stayed at the modern 5* Royalton Habana, right on the Malecón and within walking distance of Old Havana. My room was quiet and spacious, and the rooftop patio offered stunning sunset views over the ocean. I explored Havana in a vintage car ($50 CAD/hour) and discovered its rich architecture, history, and culture. One of my favorite experiences was visiting a Babalawo, a traditional Yoruba spiritual healer. Babalawos offer intuitive guidance and spiritual insight, part of Cuba’s Afro-Caribbean traditions brought through Santería. Varadero Luxury: After Havana, I headed to Meliá Internacional in Varadero for four nights of pure luxury in The Level, the adult-only section with exclusive restaurants, bars, concierge service, and a stunning beach. The resort is modern, clean, and perfect for unwinding after the adventures of Havana. We explored Varadero by taking the hop on hop off bus right outside of the hotel.
